    Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Training

Survive and Thrive is a program developed by Morgan to be fun, helpful, and real. We talk about anything and everything. We aim to be the opposite of boring and lonely. Our main goals are to have a blast and learn how to love life.

Do you like to play, laugh, and have fun? Do you wish to spend your time with people who are interested in having more than superficial conversations? Do you value people you can trust, whom you have confidence in and can share bonds of recognition?

If you spend time searching for your motivation, wishing school were easier, being annoyed at the annoying stuff, stressed at the stressful stuff, or wondering where the exciting ideas and people are, then Survive and Thrive is for you!

Make no mistake, you will be challenged. Maybe showing up will be hard. Maybe being vulnerable will be uncomfortable. Maybe dealing with the other guys will be annoying. But this is reality and everything we do is here intended to give you the tools to figure these situations out. How will you ever get good at solving the difficult puzzles in life without safely experimenting with solutions to what you are facing now?

Together we build the trust to safely delve into the murky depths, ask the wild questions that are often ignored and explore the uncomfortable territory that comes with being a teenager.

Survive and Thrive is designed to help one:

    • Experience what it’s like to be motivated.
    • Feel accepted. Understood. Seen.
    • Make clear and confident decisions.
    • Learn what it’s like to be assertive and decisive.
    • Experience being part of an awesome team where you feel understood and appreciated rather than isolated, lonely or lost.
    • Cultivate the notion and practice of seeing one’s “deficiencies” as assets.

Survive and Thrive will continue to be led by Ian Abraham and Morgan. Ian combines his great instincts and experience with young people, a vast knowledge of the natural world, and deep caring for the health and well being of our young people!  It’s an absolute gift for us all to have him along for the journey!

Jazz Standards ~ Retro Pop ~ French
Jason has been singing in venues around Portland, Oregon since 2012.
He was trained in classical singing, but found his niche in the jazz standards of the Sinatra era, as well as some of the pop songs he grew up with during the 1960s and 1970s.
From 2016-2018, he sang with the Portland retro jazz band "French Twist" and have grown to love many of the classic French/English chansons that audiences will immediately recognize.

He teams with a variety of local instrumentalists, and occasionally other vocalists, providing a evening of songs that will move, delight, and entertain.

Jason's songbook is filled with treasures from the 1930s to the 1970s. He sings classic songs that are romantic, poignant, humorous, all celebrating the ups and downs of being human.

No cover charge. Tipping the musicians is welcomed!

What if it could be easy to do more, be more, earn more? It doesn’t have to be such a struggle! Only our thoughts and beliefs stand between where we are and where we want to be! In this class, we will get clarity on our really big desires. Then we will expand those desires. We’ll use Tapping to clear away the inner resistance, doubt, and fear that gets in the way. Together we will consciously create our really big dreams!

Tapping is a form of energy psychology that uses acupressure meridian points from traditional Chinese medicine, which have been used to heal and balance physical and emotional ailments for over five thousand years. Simple tapping with the fingertips is used to input kinetic energy to specific meridians on the head and torso, while thinking and speaking about the specific problems. The result is a soothed nervous system, “rewired” neurons, new thoughts, and new behaviors. Quickly and gently!

Taught by Helen McConnell.  Helen is a Personal Transformation Specialist and Money Coach. She is a tapping expert, entrepreneur, speaker, and author. She works with individuals, groups, and organizations to help them get clarity about their goals and desires, and to remove the blocks that keep them from manifesting their dreams. She is a master at healing and releasing trauma, anxiety, depression, fear, and other obstacles. Contact her at: Helen@HelenMcConnell.com

Join us for an evening with Jeffrey Michael Kauffman!

    No cover charge.

Jeffrey Michael Kauffman has amassed diverse credits in both musical and writing/journalism careers over several decades.  In the music world, Portland, Oregon critics have called Jeff’s original jazz “glorious, captivating, intriguing, and exotic.” Theater reviewers have praised his Music Direction as “extremely tight, with drive and balance.”  Unwilling to be pigeonholed as a jazz, pop, rock, classical or theater music artist, Jeff has forged a long and successful career based in Portland, but with a worldwide reach, as that rare breed of musician who, in the words of another reviewer, “does it all, and does it all with panache and grace.”

Among Jeff’s many notable musical achievements:  national composing grants from, among others, the National Endowment for the Arts, Lila Wallace/Reader’s Digest Fund, Pew Charitable Trusts and Nautilus Music Theater; commissions/fellowships to create music in such varied genres as free jazz (for Portland’s Art in Public Spaces series) and opera (for the Resident Artists of Portland Opera); long term house pianist at several popular lounges and clubs; over eight years as featured artist and special material writer aboard a cruise ship; numerous Music Directing and original underscoring credits for many of Portland’s major and alternative theater companies; numerous television performing credits; television soundtracks, including Portland’s first-ever CableACE nominated production; and frequent music direction and special material writing for nationally known theater and cabaret artists, including Susannah Mars, Michele Mariana, and Broadway’s Tony nominated Brooks Ashmanskas as well as Tony winning Corey Brunish.  Jeff was winner of the OTAS Award for Musical Direction for his conducting of Lakewood Theater’s The Producers, the most successful show in the over half century history of that theater company.

Lane Norberg is a singer-songwriter from Bozeman, MT. He grew up learning to play piano and drums, but didn't begin playing the guitar until college. During these years, Norberg began to write and record his own music, often in his apartment bedroom. His songs are driven by faith, love, and all of life’s up’s and down’s. Lyrics are thoughtful, and often involve details from his own life. In his own words: “I believe that music is a unique way to express the kinds of things we all go through every day. I want my music to be relatable to people, because I think you can really communicate an idea through song if your lyrics are believable and authentic.” Musically, the songs are very approachable and easy to listen to, and the style is beautifully simplistic. Lane spent the summer recording his first record at Basecamp Recording Studio in Bozeman, MT with producer Chris Cunningham.
His first EP - "Under the Trees", is now available on every music platform.

Join us every First Friday in the Village with True North! True North is a fun, music loving, unique jazz sextet based in Portland. Featured vocalist Dan Murphy brings it with his very own takes on favorite jazz and swing standards.  Plus, members Kathy James, Steve Morgan and Brad McMillan take pride in writing melodic, versatile, all-original compositions that widely appeal to the crowd.  Add to that, the creative energy and talent brought by Eric Austin on sax, and Steve Turmell on drums, this is a group you won't want to miss.  They originally formed as the Kathy James Quintet in 2010 and concentrated on developing her strong original compositions. That same year, the band obtained a monthly residency at the popular O'Connor's Vault in Multnomah Village.  There it began, the steady word-of-mouth growth of their lively fan base. When the group was joined by Steve Morgan and Brad McMillan who added their own styles of original music to the repertoire, the band updated its name to "True North" and has been a force ever since, according to the loyal fans who consistently show enthusiastic and much appreciated support. True North performs at local jazz venues, regionally, at various fairs and festivals, and looks forward to a successful year of gigs, writing new music and recording. You are invited to join the fun!!!  We couldn't do it without you and your support of live music and the venues that make it possible.  http://www.truenorthjazzband.com/

Isabel Umanzor and Claudia Casal met in Santiago de Chile in 2010 and began their venture as a band in 2016 when they began playing together at parties and events. But it is in 2017 when they solidified as a band under EPUCUYEN, in their current city, Portland, OR.

EPUCUYEN's name comes from Mapudungun, the native language of the Mapuche Indigenous People who inhabit the Araucania Region in Chile. EPUCUYEN is divided into EPU: 'two' and CUYEN: 'Moon', this is how EPUCUYEN comes to give life to two moons in their encounter in the universe.

Isabel, native from Santiago de Chile discovered her love for music at an early age. She started by playing with several folk groups participating in cultural events which were politically motivated in opposition to the Chilean military regime. Nowadays her songs can be found on CDs like "Siete dÍas", "Dime" and now as EPUCUYEN’s Director, she is currently working a third album.

Claudia, native from Havana City, comes from a family of musicians and poets. Since she was a child she showed a vocation for art and poetry. She won second place in poetry at "Belvigraf Poetry International Awards" in Argentina, 2001. Her poem "Imposition to the Infidels" was included in the anthology poetry book "Like Every Thursday" launched by the University of Barcelona in the year 2009.

Do you feel lethargic, anxious, or heavy-hearted?

Do you suffer from tight muscles or energetic overwhelm?

Tired of bearing the weight of the world on your shoulders?

The needs of the Empath and Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) are different. These very unique needs and desires are typically not supported by the mainstream—much less understood—leaving us feeling alone, lost, confused or unhealthy.

You are not alone. And confusion and symptom overload are the norms for untrained empaths.

At this workshop over 10 consecutive Tuesdays (January 15, 2019 to March 19,  led by Dave Markowitz: Intuitive Healing Facilitator, Guide, Author, Speaker you will:

    • Learn why you absorb others’ energy and how that can cause pain and illness;
    • Receive the steps to prevent energetic overload—no matter who is challenging your peace;
    • Experience healing of your individual challenges and symptoms; and
    • Learn to make a difference in the world by sharing your unique gifts in a whole new way!

Based on the concepts — but not limited to those — in the bestselling, Self-Care for the Self-Aware: A Guide for Highly Sensitive People, Empaths, Intuitives, and Healers, and Empathipedia: Healing for Empaths & Highly Sensitive Persons, you'll receive personalized instructions on how to heal as an Empath or Highly Sensitive Person.

You’ll learn to use your gifts to self-heal, help heal others better than ever, and make a tangible difference in the world.

Each session will be intuited in the moment for your individual highest good, all guided by Source through Dave. You’ll experience an expansion of your awareness and an increase in your capacities to fulfill your own desires, while also fine-tuning your space-holding and healing skills for others!

Isn’t it time you stepped up and played bigger? To grow with the flow? To get more confident? To heal what ails you? To connect on a deeper level with others, Source and yourself?

Because of group dynamics, the cost is much less and you get so much more!
Normally, 20 hours with Dave would cost $2,500.00!

But because we are co-creating this…

It’s only $42.90 per session with early pay discount.

    $429 in advance through January 1st, 2019 then $489
